Privacy, control, and product analytics

Your legal facts belong under your control.

LAW.PH stores document answers only to provide the drafts and exact purchased versions you request. Its separate product-event system is deliberately unable to accept contract answers, generated wording, names, email address, raw search text, payment identifiers, IP address, or browser fingerprint.

Your control

Loading your browser preference…

Guest workspaces

You do not need an account to save a document or pay for one. When you do, LAW.PH creates an anonymous guest workspace in your browser to hold your drafts and your purchase. It has no name or email address. A guest workspace with no purchase is deleted automatically after 30 days, and one with a purchase is kept like any account’s purchases. Add an email address at any time to keep your documents on other devices. Signing out of a guest workspace, or clearing your browser, removes your access to it, so download your document first.

Access, portability, and deletion

A signed-in user can download a structured JSON export containing their profile, drafts, immutable versions, purchases, entitlements, stored-file records, legal-change notices, support cases, and associated product events. The same dashboard provides permanent account deletion with typed confirmation.

Successful deletion removes account access, cloud document answers, generated wording, files, legal-change notices, support narratives, profile data, and local draft copies in the current browser. Pending payments and active support cases must first be resolved so deletion cannot silently interrupt a transaction or remedy. Open account controls →

Optional answer refinement

Selected free-text questions include an optional writing assistant. It sends only the answer currently shown, together with the template version and field identifiers; it does not send the other interview answers, names from other fields, the live document, or the purchased file. Suggestions are never applied automatically. When the external AI service is connected, LAW.PH disables application-state storage for the response. The provider’s separate abuse-monitoring retention may still apply under the project’s data controls; see the provider data-control documentation. When the service is unavailable, LAW.PH falls back to limited wording cleanup or one clarifying question.

Optional AI document matching

The document finder’s “describe what you need” box can use a decision model from Typesafe. When it is switched on, LAW.PH sends the description you type, together with a fixed instruction and the names and descriptions of LAW.PH’s own documents, and receives a choice of document with a confidence level. Nothing else about you is sent. LAW.PH does not store the description or attach it to your account, and its product analytics record only a fixed category and the document you picked. Typesafe processes what it receives under its own terms. Please leave out names, ID numbers, and account numbers. The result is a suggestion, not legal advice. When the service is off or unavailable, LAW.PH compares your words with its document library on its own server instead.

What may remain after deletion

For a paid or refunded order, LAW.PH retains only a private accounting row containing the transaction reference, template identifier, amount, status, provider reference, and dates. It is separated from the deleted account and contains no email, account identifier, document identifier, contract answers, generated wording, support narrative, or checkout link. The export and deletion receipt show the applicable disposal date.

This boundary follows the Data Privacy Act’s necessity and proportionality principles while recognizing records that may still be required for a legal obligation or claim. See the NPC right to erasure guidance, Data Privacy Act IRR, and R.A. 11976 accounting-record rule.

What is measured

  • Broad, fixed search topic and the number-of-results range—not the words you typed.
  • Document selected, generator progress ranges, completion, checkout, purchase, and file format.
  • The type of product-support case—not its summary, details, reference, or affected order.

Identity and analytics retention

A random identifier links events only within the current browser tab session. It is stored in session storage, not a cookie, and is not used for advertising or cross-session profiling. Raw product events expire automatically after 90 days. When an account is deleted, any remaining event rows are immediately disconnected from its account identifier.

Built-in limits

The server rejects unknown fields and unregistered document identifiers. Public and signed-in browser roles cannot read or write the analytics table directly. Aggregated operational views remain private, and analytics failures never block document creation, checkout fulfillment, downloads, or support.

Google Tag Manager on public pages

When analytics are on, LAW.PH’s public pages load Google Tag Manager, which lets LAW.PH run measurement tags such as Google Analytics without changing the site. Google then receives standard browser details, including your IP address, the page you are viewing, and the page you came from, and its tags may set cookies under Google’s own policies. This is separate from the first-party product events described above.

Tag Manager does not start when the first page you open is the document generator, sign-in, your account, checkout, or support, and LAW.PH does not pass it your contract answers or account details. If you move from a public page into one of those areas during the same visit, it stays loaded until you reload the page. Turning analytics off above, or sending Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, stops it from loading.
