An Installment Vehicle Sale Agreement and Payment Acknowledgment is a written agreement that records what the people involved have promised to do for one another.

What this template does. Sell one identified private vehicle through a centavo-accurate monthly schedule, cleared down-payment acknowledgment, credit disclosure, purchase-money security, PPSR and LTO routing, insurance, prepayment, and controlled default remedies.

Legal considerations

Heightened care. Verify registered title and identifiers, disclose the complete credit price before signing, transfer through LTO promptly, perfect the purchase-money security interest, keep remedies alternative under Article 1484, and never repossess through force, deception, trespass, harassment, or breach of peace.

How it is signed

Acknowledged before a notary public. You sign, then appear before a notary public who checks your identity and confirms that you signed freely (an acknowledgment). This is the form usually needed for documents that will be registered.

  • Supreme Court Recto-law jurisprudence
  • Personal Property Security Act
  • Truth in Lending Act
  • Consumer Act

How to complete your Installment Vehicle Sale Agreement and Payment Acknowledgment

The guided interview takes you through 9 steps. The document updates as you answer, and some questions appear only when your earlier answers make them relevant.

  1. Step 1

    Confirm the installment-sale route

This route is for one identified, existing private vehicle sold directly by its registered owner with part of the price payable in two or more installments.

    Up to 4 questions
  2. Step 2

Identify the registered owner and buyer

The seller must match the current CR or sign through documented authority. The buyer must be the actual named transferee, never a blank nominee.

    Up to 17 questions
  3. Step 3

    Match the exact vehicle

Copy registered details from the latest CR, then compare engine and chassis/VIN numbers against the physical vehicle and inspection records.

    Up to 16 questions
  4. Step 4

    Verify ownership and registration facts

Verify the Seller's title before creating a new purchase-money security interest over the exact vehicle.

    Up to 17 questions
  5. Step 5

    Record condition and inspection

Specific facts are more useful than a blanket “as-is” clause. Disclose defects, history, alterations, and odometer uncertainty honestly.

    Up to 10 questions
  6. Step 6

    Build the exact payment schedule

The schedule uses centavo-accurate installments and adjusts only the final payment for rounding.

    Up to 13 questions
  7. Step 7

Secure the balance without inventing remedies

The buyer receives title through the prompt LTO process and grants a purchase-money security interest; enforcement remains controlled by Articles 1484–1486 and the PPSA.

    Up to 19 questions
  8. Step 8

Plan the LTO and HPG transfer

Prompt transfer and a properly recorded security interest reduce registered-owner and priority risks.

    Up to 7 questions
  9. Step 9

Set warranties and finish the agreement

The final deed preserves mandatory title and hidden-defect rules, records only supportable promises, and leaves the acknowledgment entirely to the authorized notarial officer.

    Up to 12 questions

INITIAL PAYMENT ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The Seller acknowledges receipt of cleared funds totaling PHP 100,000.00 on August 31, 2026 under transaction reference BPI transfer reference 20260831-44198, credited entirely as the stated down payment. This is not a paid-in-full receipt. The scheduled installment balance remains PHP 444,000.00, excluding only the separately stated non-finance charges.

For every later cleared payment, the Seller shall issue the following evidence: The Seller will issue a dated acknowledgment for each cleared payment, showing the installment number, amount received, allocation, and remaining scheduled balance; a Seller in business also issues its BIR-registered invoice for the sale. A pending transfer screenshot, unsigned ledger, postdated check, or promise to pay is not a receipt of cleared funds.

SALE, TITLE TRANSFER, AND PURCHASE-MONEY SECURITY

The Seller sells the identified Vehicle to the Buyer for the stated installment price. The parties shall pursue prompt LTO transfer to the named Buyer and do not use an open deed or retain the public record in the Seller's name merely to pressure payment. To secure the unpaid price, the Buyer grants the Seller a purchase-money security interest over the exact Vehicle and its identifiable proceeds to the extent permitted by Republic Act No. 11057 and other applicable law.

The Seller shall register the notice of its purchase-money security interest in the Personal Property Security Registry before turnover and give the Buyer the registration record; the Buyer need not accept turnover until then. PPSR plan: The Seller will register the purchase-money security notice in the PPSR before turnover, give the Buyer the registration record, amend any error without delay, and file termination promptly after final cleared payment. The parties shall also satisfy any LTO annotation, tax, notarial, or office-specific step that remains applicable. The Seller shall correct an inaccurate notice, account for proceeds, and terminate the notice and release supporting records after final cleared payment and satisfaction of lawful obligations.

Until final cleared payment, the Buyer shall not sell, encumber, lease, conceal, export, abandon, materially alter, tamper with identifiers of, or surrender the Vehicle to another person without lawful written authority. This restriction does not permit self-help violence, trespass, breach of peace, or a transfer that defeats mandatory law or good-faith third-party rights.
